Jim Koford Wins Grand Prix Freestyle And Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award At Global Dressage Festival’s CDI

Wellington, FL (March 12, 2012)– Jim Koford showed off his winning style at the Global Dressage Festival’s inaugural show, the Wellington Dressage CDI W, riding into the winner’s circle in the Grand Prix Freestyle aboard Pharaoh and placing second in the Grand Prix Special on Rhett. Koford was excited about his horses and the new facility, and the smile on his face and his great attitude also helped him ride away with the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award.

“I am so happy to be here and so happy to have two fun horses to ride in the Grand Prix,” Koford said, adding that he wanted to thank Premier Equestrian for recognizing his sportsmanship. “You want a good outcome when you compete, but it is important to realize that we work so hard to do this that we need to have a good time regardless. It doesn’t get much better than this.”
Koford and Pharaoh won the Grand Prix Freestyle with a 73.300% and Koford piloted Rhett to second place in the Grand Prix Special with a 68.133%. “I am so excited about this facility, it looks unbelievable,” he said. “It’s one of the few facilities in Florida where we can compete outdoors, which I like. I am excited to support it and of course I always try to be a good sport.”

As the winner of the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award, Koford won a gift certificate for $100 worth of Premier products. Premier Equestrian, LLC, a leading supplier of dressage arenas, horse jumps, arena footing and stable accessories, has an active presence on the Global Dressage Festival show grounds. “We sponsor the Sportsmanship Award and we also supplied all of the dressage arena equipment and dressage letters at the Global Dressage Festival,” said Heidi Zorn, President of Premier Equestrian. “I want to congratulate Jim on great wins in the ring and his great attitude throughout the entire competition.
