Dressage Rider Susie Dutta Wins Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award At Gold Coast Dressage Opener CDIWellington, FL (February 3, 2012)– International dressage rider Susie Dutta, a member of the Gold Medal 2007 Pan American Games team, competed in the prestigious Gold Coast Dressage Opener CDI on her long-time equine partner Currency DC. While Dutta showed off her winning style by being in the ribbons during the show, she also showed off another one of her winning traits – being a good sport.

Dutta was awarded the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award during the show, sponsored by Premier Equestrian, LLC, a leading supplier of dressage arenas, horse jumps, arena footing and stable accessories. “I try to keep a positive attitude and when I see an improvement in someone’s riding I always make sure I mention it,” Dutta said. “I like it when people do that for me also.”
Dutta, who splits her time between Tuny Page’s Stillpoint Farm in Wellington, Florida, and training in Germany, won the USEF/Markel Young Horse Dressage National 5-Year-Old Championships in 2005 and the 6-Year-Old Championships in 2006 on Currency DC, an Oldenburg gelding. The pair made their debut in the Grand Prix ring in 2010.
Dutta has trained with some of the world’s top dressage masters including Rudolph Zeilinger, Klaus Balkenhol, George Theodorscu, Robert Dover and Dennis Callin. She currently trains with Oded Shimoni, who also operates out of Stillpoint Farm. “Competing at the top level of the sport is not a solo endeavor,” Dutta said. “It takes a great team for all of this to happen.
