This year, Del Mar will host a very significant moment in US equestrian sport when one of the most influential American dressage horses, Ravel, will step into the spotlight one last time to be officially retired.  Beloved around the world, especially by his rider, Steffen Peters, and owners Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang of Four Winds Farm, Ravel is a modern day American legend in the sport of dressage.  He has achieved international fame by representing the United States in two Olympics: the 2008 Bejing Games and the 2012 London Games, in addition to winning the 2009 World Cup Final, the 2009 Aachen CDIO, has twice been the US Grand Prix Dressage Champion, and has taken over 40 Grand Prix victory lapsthroughout his accomplished career.  Premier Equestrian is especially honored to be a part of this momentous occasion.

Premier is also proud to once again be sponsoring Olympic Dressage rider, Adrienne Lyle, who will be competing at the 2013 Del Mar National Horse Show as well. “Adrienne is a talented and amazing young woman and Premier is excited to be part of her amazing story as it unfolds. Her partnership with her horse Wizard is spectacular and we can’t wait to see what happens next with those two!” said Heidi Zorn, President of Premier Equestrian.

Premier Equestrian, along with Del Mar operations staff, installed the GGT Footing at the Del Mar National Horse Show. GGT is a neutral non-toxic, non-allergenicmaterial that will not negatively affect either humans or animals. GGT Footing qualities include: good resistance to compacting; stabilizes sand particles and delivers high elasticity; gentle on the bare hoof with great energy absorption with less concussion; high slide strength and intermediate shear resistance delivers additional stability; improves and balances moisture absorption; and it offers significant dust reduction for indoor riding arenas. “GGT Footing is used at top venues all over the world,” Zorn said.

“Whichever Premier footing product you choose, your equine athletes will be performing on the best material available, and they will thank you for it!” assures Zorn. Considered America’s leading manufacturer and distributor of equestrian arenas, Premier Equestrian’s website offers extensive and informativeinformation designed to help horse owners understand the differences in arenas as well as arena footing.
