Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award- Pierre St Jacques

Pan Am Gold Medalist Pierre St Jacques Wins Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award At International Horse Sport Palm Beach Show

Loxahatchee, FL (January 18, 2012) – Pierre St Jacques and his equine partner Lucky Tiger are veterans of the show world, from winning a U.S. team gold medal at the 2003 Pan Am Games to being the alternate for the team for the World Equestrian Games in 2010. That experience, plus the fact that St Jacques just happens to be a nice guy with a great attitude, helped St Jacques and Lucky Tiger take home the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award at the International Horse Sport Beach Show.

“I always try to be a good sport at every horse show I attend,” St Jacques said, adding that he wanted to thank Premier for presenting him with the award. Sponsored by Premier Equestrian, LLC, a leading supplier of dressage arenas, horse jumps, arena footing and stable accessories, the Premier Sportsmanship Award is presented to a barn or rider who displays a high level of sportsmanship during a show and the winner receives a gift certificate for $100 worth of Premier products.

While St Jacques showed off his good sportsmanship attributes at the show, he also showed why he and Lucky Tiger have been at the top of the dressage world for many years. The duo rode the Olympic Grand Prix Special 2011 Test, winning the class with a score of 70.889%. St Jacques also competed Lucky Tiger in the FEI Test of Choice, winning the FEI Grand Prix 2009 Test with a score of 70.213%. St Jacques stayed busy at the show, also competing Donnatelli in the FEI Intermediaire I, winning the class with a 68.289% and placing third in the FEI Prix St. Georges class on Donnatelli with a 71.842%

St Jacques said it felt good to be competing Lucky Tiger again. “He’s 17 years old and he knows his job,” St Jacques said. “This is the first time I’ve competed him since the World Equestrian Games. We are on the B-list for the U.S. Team for London, so we will see how that goes.”

Heidi Zorn, President of Premier Equestrian, congratulated St Jacques on winning the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award. “Pierre has a reputation of being a great sport at every show he attends, and that goes a long way in making the horse show world a better place,” she said. “It was great to see Pierre and Lucky Tiger back in the show ring and we wish them the best of luck as they head toward the London Olympics.”

St Jacques was awarded a gift certificate to Premier for winning the Sportsmanship Award. “We offer a fantastic line of dressage equipment, jumping equipment, rubber mats, barn and stable accessories, books, DVDs and footing. Every winner of the award will be able to find something they need and really want among our selection,” Zorn said. “As a world-class dressage rider, Pierre is familiar with our dressage arenas, dressage letters and dressage arena footing we produce.
