Adrienne Lyle - 2012 London Olympics

Premier Equestrian Congratulates Sponsored Dressage Rider Adrienne Lyle As She Heads To London To Compete In 2012 Olympics

Sandy, UT (June 23, 2012)– Premier Equestrian is proud to announce that dressage rider Adrienne Lyle has earned a spot on the US Dressage Team and will compete with her equine partner Wizard at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Premier Equestrian, LLC, a leading supplier of dressage arenas, horse jumps, arena footing and stable accessories, sponsors Lyle.

Olympian Guenter Seidel Goes Above And Beyond To Win Premier Sportsmanship Award At Del Mar National Horse Show

“We are so thrilled for Adrienne and Wizard, words can hardly express how happy we are that she is going to London. Adrienne is a talented and amazing young woman and Premier is excited to be part of her amazing story as it unfolds. Her partnership with Wizard is spectacular and we can’t wait to see what happens in London,” said Heidi Zorn, President of Premier Equestrian, LLC.

Lyle, 27, hails from Ketchum, Idaho, and grew up on a small cattle ranch. The call of dressage proved powerful, and during the summer of 2005 she became a working student for two-time dressage Olympian Debbie McDonald at Peggy and Parry Thomases’ River Grove Farm in Idaho. “It was a life changing experience for Adrienne,” Zorn said. “Under the tutelage of Debbie and her classical theories, along with the pairing of Adrienne and Wizard, a new dressage star has been born.”

In 2008, Lyle and Wizard, a 1999 Oldenburg gelding, set the stage for their future success when they won the Brentina Cup Championship at the USEF National Championships. “The Brentina Cup is named after the Thomas’s horse Brentina, who was ridden by Olympian Debbie McDonald. Premier developed a Brentina dressage arena that Debbie endorses,” Zorn said. “It’s a small world because Adrienne came to the Thomas farm to be a working student for Debbie and Debbie has been Adrienne’s trainer throughout all of her success.”

Lyle and Wizard began preparing for their Olympic debut during the winter dressage season. Wizard, who is owned by the Thomases, and Lyle took the 2012 winter dressage circuit by storm in South Florida, riding away with win after win, including placing first in the Grand Prix Special with a 73.2% at the CDI World Dressage Masters and firsts in the Grand Prix at the CDI 5* West Palm Beach, scoring a 73% in the Grand Prix and a 77.7% in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

During the Dressage Festival of Champions, which acted as an Olympic Selection trial, Lyle and Wizard rose to the occasion during their two Grand Prix and two Olympic Grand Prix Specials, with each class counting for 25 percent of the total. Lyle and Wizard earned a total of 72.558%. The other members of the 2012 Olympic Dressage team will include Steffen Peters, Tina Konyot and Jan Ebeling.

While in London, the team will be based about 90 minutes northeast of London in a private barn. The team competition begins August 2 and ends with the individual freestyle on August 9th. “Premier will be rooting for Adrienne and Wizard the entire time. London is calling, and I know this exciting duo will answer!” Zorn said.

In addition to world-class dressage arenas, such as the Brentina Arena, Premier Equestrian offers a fantastic line of dressage equipment, jumping equipment, rubber mats, barn and stable accessories, books, DVDs, and footing. “We also carry Walter Zettl’s DVD series ‘A Matter of Trust.’ Walter is a classical dressage master and this four-volume series elaborates on the theory classical masters have used for centuries. Walter’s approach redefines correct training methods, proper movements and carriage of the horse and is a ‘must-have’ for all levels of dressage riders,” Zorn said.

Premier Equestrian also offers a complete line of horse jumps and horse jumping equipment, including jump standards, gates, walls, jump cups, jump poles, sponsor jumps and cavaletti. The last of four competitions was marked by spectators celebrating with red foam rubber fingers emblazoned with the words “Dressage is #1″ made famous by the national television show,  Stephen Colebert Report, that lampooned the sport, but has been embraced by dressage fans as bringing the sport into mainstream American life for a while, at least.

And the presence of Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and part-owner of Rafalca added to the air of celebration at the century-old U.S. Equestrian Team Foundation headquarters an our from New York.
